Breach Act I | MIRA Festival

  • Rick Farin

Landscapes was in charge of the production of Rick Farin's installation "Breach Act I" for MIRA Festival 2019.

BREACH ACT I (Farin's first large format installation) is an investigation into the relationship between technology, nature, and materiality. Using a game engine to immerse audiences in a world transformed by climate change will allow viewers to interact and engage with the simulation projected in space via a custom-made motion controller. The installation connects with emerging technologies to speculate on our future materials, recognizing that technology and nature are the same. In his own words: “Software is material. Nature has never been natural and can never be naturalized."
